Pre School Infants and Juniors

  • Our Pre- School children are divided up into two rooms Infants and Juniors. Planning is implemented into each day’s activities and they include sand, water, painting, counting, role play, computer education and mark making as well as outdoor activities.

    Pre-School is slightly more structured and the children are encouraged to become more independent but always supervised. They are encouraged to learn about health and hygiene and how to prepare for mealtimes, dressing for out door play and encouraged to sit and listen to story time if they choose.

     

    • Role Play – Dolls, dressing up, home corner, and themed shops and restaurants to help develop imaginary play.
    • Book Area – This provides a quiet time for individuals or small groups to look at their favorite books.
    • Computer Area – This provides both fun and educational games with touch screen Computer facility
    • Messy Play – Paint, Sand and Water always accessible during the day.
    • Mathematics Area – Providing opportunities for sorting, matching, magnetics,
    • Measuring and counting and making patterns.

     

    Twice weekly Vicky North, a qualified teacher, attends the nursery to teach the children basic letters and phonics which the children really do enjoy. Our Pre-School Infant room is registered for 20 children providing three members of staff at full capacity and the Pre-School Junior room is registered currently for 26 children providing two members of staff at all times.
